Gross Things That Could Be Hiding in Your Ductwork

Plumbing Leaks

If you are convinced you have things hiding in your ductwork, you need the professional help of a trustworthy HVAC services team.

How can HVAC services help you to feel more comfortable and safe in your home? The average person spends at least 40% of their time indoors. It’s for this reason that the quality of the air in your home has a major impact on your health and wellbeing.

If your ductwork isn’t clean or your home doesn’t have proper ventilation, it’s likely you are noticing a significant air quality problem. The last thing you want, is to be worrying about what’s in your homes' air supply but it may be time to face the facts.

Here are five nasty things that could be living in your ductwork and what you can do about them:

1. Viruses & Bacteria

More pathogens live inside the ductwork in the places where we live and work than anywhere else. That’s why it’s so important to make sure your HVAC is as clean as possible.

2. VOCs & Chemicals

Over the years, remnants of chemical substances accumulated in the ducts of your home. Cleaning products, adhesives, paint, cigarette smoke and so much more can have a lasting effect on your health.

3. Mold & Mildew

The most dangerous home air contaminant of all, black mold can cause severe illness and can even be fatal. The experts recommend yearly professional inspection for black mold for all structures where people live and work. Never try to remove black mold yourself; specialized training and equipment are necessary for the job.

4. Pet Dander & Dust Mites

These two primary irritants are unpleasant for anyone, but for those with allergies- they can make life miserable.

5. Pollution

For homes in or near a large metropolitan area, automobile exhaust and other pollutants are sure to accumulate in the house and the HVAC system. These latent contaminants can be a constant hindrance to your respiratory health.

We know how important clean indoor air is to the health and happiness of you and your family. To learn more about how our experts can help to keep you breathing easy with the right HVAC services, get in touch with Dependable Service Plumbing & Air today.

customer review

“Senior technician, Joe Anderson, made plumbing repairs to an upstairs bathtub to seal leaks from flooding through kitchen ceiling downstairs. This has been an ongoing serious daily problem in this apartment since April 2015. Mr. Anderson was the first person to have a camera system with him to assess areas where water was accessing kitchen ceiling. He explained in detail what he did and what he found wrong. Water had been flowing from next door apartment whenever they used their shower for over a year now. Mr. Anderson stated he needed to get permission from apartment management office in order to proceed to correct issues in next door apartment. Management has not allowed that access yet. He also noted that a single shower curtain in the apartment next door was on the outside of that tub and felt that could be creating some of the flooding issues. Thank you Mr. Anderson for being my angel and making these repairs.” –-Lyda G.
