Today’s thermostats offer advanced features that keep your family more comfortable while cutting your costs. Find out how today.

When did thermostats get so smart? The latest models have programmable features. They’re Wi-Fi enabled. They can even tell when your family has left the house. New advancements tout ultra-easy user interfaces to make controlling your comfort second-nature, but they also boast saving power. So, how much can you really save with a smart thermostat? Let’s take a look at the numbers.

How Efficient Is Your HVAC Setup?

Heating and cooling take up an average of 40 - 60 percent of the energy costs in the average home. Think about the size of your monthly bill. How much does it really cost you to keep your home warm in winter?

Now that you have a starting point, it’s important to consider how efficient your HVAC setup is. Not just the equipment. You can have the latest Energy Star furnace and still waste money heating your home. Think about how often your house is empty and how many times you adjust the temperature day-to-day. Do you ever change the dial?

If you’re part of the 90 percent of homeowners who never use programmable heating and cooling features, you’re leaving money on the table!

How Much Can You Save by Changing the Temperature?

Truth be told, older thermostats were confusing. Many homeowners never learned how to set program changes based on their routines. Designers created new smart thermostats to be user-friendly, lowering a major barrier to energy efficiency. That’s good news for homeowners looking to shave a serious amount off their monthly bills.

The US Department of Energy found the average home could save 15 percent on their energy costs just by adjusting their temperatures while residents were at work or at school. You can also save by lowering temperatures a few degrees at night, and studies show you will sleep better too.

customer review

“Senior technician, Joe Anderson, made plumbing repairs to an upstairs bathtub to seal leaks from flooding through kitchen ceiling downstairs. This has been an ongoing serious daily problem in this apartment since April 2015. Mr. Anderson was the first person to have a camera system with him to assess areas where water was accessing kitchen ceiling. He explained in detail what he did and what he found wrong. Water had been flowing from next door apartment whenever they used their shower for over a year now. Mr. Anderson stated he needed to get permission from apartment management office in order to proceed to correct issues in next door apartment. Management has not allowed that access yet. He also noted that a single shower curtain in the apartment next door was on the outside of that tub and felt that could be creating some of the flooding issues. Thank you Mr. Anderson for being my angel and making these repairs.” –-Lyda G.
